PUBLIC support for Britain remaining in the European Union has slumped to an all-time low. More than half of voters (54 per cent) think we should quit, while barely a third (34 per cent) want to stay in.

90 PER CENT DEMAND LET BRITAIN HAVE AN EU REFERENDUM NOW

 

British Voters Demand ReferendumTHE first poll in a campaign to decide Britain’s future with the ­European Union has ended in an overwhelming vote in favour of a referendum on our membership.

 

A total of 89.9 per cent of those voting in the local poll held by the People’s Pledge organisation wanted a national referendum, with only 10.1 per cent rejecting the idea.

 

Campaigners last night hailed the ground-breaking poll in Thurrock, Essex, as “historic” and warned that MPs could no longer deny people a say on whether we should be in or out of the EU.

The Year 2012 and the Mayan prophecy

The ancient Mayan civilisations were able to accurately calculate the annual seasons and cycles and could thereby calculate the number of days in a year.

This allowed them to formulate a very accurate calendar which became known as the “Mesoamerican long count calendar”.  All the discovered copies of these calendars conclude this year 2012 on December the 21st.

 

Many have drawn a conclusion from this that the Mayan’s believed that the world would end at this point of time.  In reality there is no evidence that the Mayan’s or any of the subsequent civilisations that adopted the long count calendar believed this to be the end of time, but rather, that this was simply the point where they stopped recording. 

As the classic period of Mayan civilisation lasted from 250-900AD, I guess 1700 years or so was a reasonably extensive calendar at the time.  

The Year 2012 MovieAnyway as a result of this somewhat fanciful conclusion, (that the Mayans believed 2012 was the end of time) all sorts of groups have arisen pronouncing that we are heading toward a cataclysmic end to the world.  In-fact Hollywood, (never one to miss out on a financial opportunity) has added to the hype and sensationalism by its production of the 2009 Blockbuster movie simply called 2012.

To understand geopolitical alignments among the nations at the time of the end, we need first to understand who the King of the North and South is in Daniels Prophecy.

More than 2,500 years ago both the prophet Daniel and Ezekiel described worldwide events that would lead man to his final conflict in what is referred to in the Bible as the “battle of Armageddon”.  In describing the events that would lead to this last global conflict they foretold how the geopolitics of the nations will be divided in a north and south alliance around the nation of Israel.

This alliance means that Bible students have long expected Britain to leave the European Union, and current events are fulfilling this Bible Prophecy before our very eyes.

Britain Close to Leaving the European Union

So let us look at what the Bible describes as the “King of the South” and a “King of the North”alliance in the last days.

“And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.  Daniel 11:40-45

When the Bible describes geography like this ie. North and South it does so upon the land of Israel being at its centre.  The people of Israel “are His chosen people” who are a witness to His existence before all nations.

Dueteronomy 7:6   “6 For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.”

Isaiah  41:10   “10Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, And my servant whom I have chosen: That ye may know and believe me, And understand that I am he: Before me there was no God formed, Neither shall there be after me.”

So who is this “King of the South and King of the North”?

World History foretold by the Prophet Daniel

The Prophet Daniel lived 2,500 years ago!

World History and Bible Prophecy

The purpose of God, as far as the earth is concerned, is clearly revealed in a remarkable prophecy contained in Daniel 2. Every confidence can be placed in it inasmuch as most of the prophecy has been fulfilled.

In a few verses, it outlines world history since the days of Daniel to the present, and on to the future.

Daniel the prophet was taken a captive to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar. That mighty Babylonian monarch had brought the whole world to his feet, and was concerned as to what might be the destiny of the empire he had established. God revealed the answer through a remarkable dream in which the king was shown the Divine plan of the ages.

The king, however, did not understand the dream. He sought the assistance of the "wise men of Babylon," and demanding as an evidence of their ability to correctly interpret it, that they first tell him the dream and then explain it. Naturally, they were unable to do this, and in his anger and disappointment, the king issued a royal edict against them, threatening them with death if they did not reveal the desired information within a given period.

Daniel was among those involved in this edict. He made his plight a matter of prayer. The God of Israel answered him, revealing the dream to the prophet, and making known to him its interpretation.

Armed with this knowledge, Daniel sought an audience with the king, and revealed unto him the desired information:

Nebuchadnezzar and world history"Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. The image's head was of fine gold, his breast and arms of silver, his belly and thighs of brass, his legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon its feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them; and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth" (Dan. 2:31-35).

This was the dream as the king instantly recognized. Daniel continued by giving the interpretation. He showed that the four different metals of the image represented four world empires that would arise: the 10 toes represented a multiplicity of nations that would replace the fourth empire; and the stone which smote the image and completely destroyed and supplanted it, represented the Kingdom of God which shall be set up on earth, overthrowing the kingdom of men.
